Otago Community Trust

Otago Community Trust www.oct.org.nz is generously sponsoring 12 rural health professionals from the Otago region in attending the Rural WONCA Conference, taking place at Tākina Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre in Te Whanganui-a-Tara | Wellington from 9–13 April 2026.

The Trust will sponsor each successful applicant up to NZD$1,500.00 (including GST) to go towards the cost of registration, accommodation and/or travel to attend the conference. Any expenses outside of this cannot be claimed.

Applicants will need to meet the following criteria:

• Be currently working or volunteering in the health sector within the Otago Community Trust Region*.
• You will be able to identify how your sponsored attendance will improve the lives of those you work, train or support in your area of health care.
• Agree to submit an extensive report to the Trust within one month following the conclusion of the conference (11.59pm NZST, Friday 15 May 2026), should sponsorship be granted .
• Provide full receipts of registration, accommodation and/or travel to be reimbursed up to the value of NZD$1,500.00 (including GST).

*Sponsorship is available only to health workers living and working in one of the following regions: North Otago, Central Otago, South Otago, Greater Dunedin, and the Wānaka ward of the Queenstown Lakes district. This opportunity is not available to doctors or GPs. See the OCT funding region area map below.
