Prof Ian Couper

Dr Ian Couper is Head, Division of Rural Health (Ukwanda) and Professor of Rural Health, Department of Global Health, Stellenbosch University, South Africa, since 2016, following nearly fourteen years at the University of the Witwatersrand and the North West Provincial Department of Health, and 25 ears in rural healthcare
He is a Council member and past chair of the WONCA Working Party on Rural Practice. He is the African section editor of Rural and Remote Health. He is an adjunct professor at Adelaide University. He has held visiting appointments at Monash and Flinders Universities in Australia and the University of Washington in the USA.
